Originally found in the tropical rainforests of South America, the Philodendron White Princess is an extremely rare member of the Philodendron family. Philodendron enthusiasts may have heard of similar variations such as the White Knight and the White Wizard, but this lovely lady differs from those two because of her narrower, more pointed leaves. Those leaves, as her name implies, are green with white variegation, and their stems are slightly red.
As if that weren’t unique enough, the White Princess is different from her other fellow Philodendrons because she doesn’t have long, snaking vines between her leaves. This particular specimen is “self-headed,” meaning that it has a stem that is barely visible through the thick foliage until its lower leaves begin to fall off as it ages.
This plant can grow well in both potting mix or a soil-less medium, as long as its pot is well-draining. Only water it when the top three inches of the growing medium are dry, and keep it in a spot where it can get light that is bright but indirect. The better the lighting, the more (and more interesting) white variegation you will get on the leaves. Just never place your plant in direct sunlight, as this will quickly turn your Princess into a damsel in distress!

We take great care when packaging and preparing your plants for shipment. They'll be shipped either in a nursery pot in soil or sphagnum moss, or shipped bare root wrapped in sphagnum moss or other damp material to retain moisture. We also add poly-fil around the plant for padding, then wrap it in bubble wrap, and finally add packing peanuts for extra cushion to ensure a safe and clean transport.
We also offer local pick-up if you're in the Los Angeles area.
