Anthurium Regale originates from the Rio Huallaga valley in Peru. Its signature heart-shaped foliage is colored in brilliant green and patterned with bright white veins. One of the biggest Anthurium varieties, a central, strongly rooted stem supports the plant’s enormous leaves.
This stunning Peruvian species likes bright, indirect sunlight and high levels of humidity. You will need to mist the plant regularly, place a pebble tray, or use a humidifier to ensure sufficient moisture in its environment. Water 3 times per week during the warm weathers of spring and summer. On soil requirements, this specimen prefers a well-draining potting mix that retains water well. You can use an orchid mix combined with perlite.
With the right care, Anthurium Regale can reach up to 5 to 8 feet in height, with its foliage growing up to a remarkable 4 feet. But that’s not all: collectors in Peru have record leaves exceeding average measurements – reaching an enormous 6 feet!
For your own Anthurium Regale, providing a moss totem will help give sturdy support for this (eventually) very large plant, which needs repotting every 2 years in spring.
